CTL Westrans Shipbrokers (CTL) is a leading shipbroking firm that has been serving the North American market and international ship-owning community for almost 40 years. The company focuses on dry cargo for both full and part cargoes, time charter, parcel chartering, and freight forwarding.
The history of CTL and its sister companies dates back to 1966, when John (Jack) Cunningham recognized a need for shipbroking services in the growing Pacific Northwest market.
With strong support from important clientele, a superior international network and the extensive experience of its employees, the newly-formed ship brokerage was soon meeting the needs of ship owners and charterers around the world. In 1984, the family-owned business expanded to include Compass Marine Services, an ISO 9001-2000 certified ship agency.
Today, CTL is the cornerstone of the Cunningham Group, which, in addition to its maritime transportation interests, operates companies in the sports marketing and lumber manufacturing industries.
Strategically located in Vancouver, British Columbia (Head Office) and Seattle, Washington, CTL is well-positioned to manage its cargo and ship chartering business from two of North America’s busiest ports. The company also works closely with its sister company Compass Marine Services, which provides agency services for an international clientele at ports along Canada’s West Coast.
Trading on its years of market insight, CTL is committed to providing its brokers with the most up-to-date market research intelligence. Timely market information regarding ships, cargoes, and vessel supply and demand supports each broker’s ability to assist clients’ short and long- term needs.
