History

The history of CTL Westrans and its sister companies dates back to 1966, when John (Jack) Cunningham recognized a need for ship broking services in the growing Pacific Northwest market.

With strong support from important clientele, a superior international network and the extensive experience of its employees, the newly-formed ship brokerage was soon meeting the needs of ship owners and charterers around the world. In 1984, the family-owned business expanded to include Compass Marine Services, an ISO 9001-2008 certified ship agency.

Today, CTL Westrans is the cornerstone of the Cunningham Group, which, in addition to its maritime transportation interests, operates companies in the sports marketing and lumber manufacturing industries.

Strategically located in Vancouver, British Columbia (Head Office) and Seattle, Washington, CTL is well-positioned to manage its cargo and ship chartering business from two of North America's busiest ports.
